North American Skull Base Society Skull Base Fellowship Match Program Bylaws

  1. PARTICIPATION CRITERIA FOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS
    • Fellowship director must be a member in good standing of the NASBS
    • Fellowship director must sign up for the upcoming match cycle by the deadline
    • Fellowship directors must commit to respecting the rules of the match and in particular:
      • Accept the results of the match and hire the candidate selected by the match.
      • Agree NOT to promise/hire/sign up a candidate/position outside of the match.
      • In case of conflict, agree to accept the resolution voted by the match executive committee.
      • Fellowship directors will allow their fellows to submit the case logs and complete the NASBS post fellowship survey.
      • After an initial period of two (2) cycles, programs will be asked to sign a two (2) cycles commitment to the match. 
      • If a program leaves the match, they will not be able to rejoin for two (2) cycles.
    • If a program does not match a fellow on match day:
      • After match day, program is free to advertise for the position and hire a fellow outside of the match for the same match cycle.
  2. PARTICIPATION CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS
    • Applicants agree to submit applications to the match.
    • Applicants agree to accept the fellowship position as determined by the match.
    • Applicants agree NOT to sign any contract/position outside of the match.
    • Upon completion of the fellowship, applicant agrees to provide their case logs and complete the fellowship survey.
    • If an applicant does not match:
      • After match day, the applicant is free to apply, interview and sign a contract with any fellowship program for the same match cycle.
  3. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MATCH PARTICIPANTS
    • Programs
      • Interaction with applicants: no restrictions for match participants
      • Position offers prior to the Match: forbidden for each match cycle
    • Applicants
      • Interactions with programs
        • Discussions with program directors: no restrictions for match participants
        • Visits-observerships to the program: no restrictions for match participants
  4. FEES
    • Fees for programs: $500 first year, $225 subsequent years
    • Fees for applicants: $50
  5. AFTER THE MATCH
    • NASBS will communicate/publish a list of fellowships who did not match (i.e. positions still open for that match cycle)
    • Candidates will then apply individually and programs will be free to evaluate/hire candidates as they wish, free from any match obligation for the July 2025 position
