V028: ORBITOZYGOMATIC CRANIOTOMY FOR RESECTION OF A PETROCLIVAL/CAVERNOUS SINUS CHONDROSARCOMA
Kelsey M Bowman, MD; Nicholas C Bambakidis, MD; Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
This is a case of a 63 year old female who presented with intermittent diplopia from a right cranial nerve VI palsy. Additional workup revealed an expansile mass centered in the right petroclival region with extension into the cavernous sinus. A one-piece orbitozygomatic craniotomy was performed and the tumor was resected after opening of the cavernous sinus. A good radiographic and neurologic result was obtained. Pathology revealed a WHO grade I chondrosarcoma.
