Annual Meeting - Guidelines for Presenters

For Oral Presentations
Abstracts scheduled for oral presentations will be listed in the Final Program, and published in a supplemental issue of Skull Base, An Interdisciplinary Approach, the official journal of the North American Skull Base Society.

Oral presentations are programmed into 10-minute time periods. If your abstract is accepted as an oral presentation, a schedule indicating the time of your presentation is included with the material you have received. You will have 10 minutes for your presentation. There will not be scheduled time times for questions and discussion, so the Moderator will only allow questions if you have not used all of your ten minute allocation of time. It is important that you not exceed your 10 minutes. All presentations and questions and answer periods will be in English. If you need assistance in understanding the questions in English, please arrange to have the session Moderator or a member of the audience assist you. Be sure to check the Final Program to reconfirm location and time. If you find you cannot present due an emergency, please contact the NASBS office at 301-654-6802 up to February 17, 2003. After that date, contact the NASBS office/registration area at the Peabody Hotel 901-529-4000.

Standard Audio Visual Equipment in each Meeting Room
Two 35mm (2"x2") slide projectors, two screens, a projectionist, remote controls for advancing slides from the lectern, and a pointer will be provided in each room. Video projection (VHS-NTSC format) will be available for presentations requiring motion photography. For Power Point presentations, a PC with CD ROM drive, floppy drive and Power Point will be connected to a LCD projector in each meeting room.

For Poster Presentations
Abstracts scheduled for presentation in poster sessions will be listed in the Final Program, and published in a supplemental issue of Skull Base, An Interdisciplinary Approach, the official journal of the North American Skull Base Society. All posters will be located, near the meeting registration desk and the meeting rooms. Poster sessions will scheduled Saturday, February 22 through Tuesday, February 25, 2002.

Poster presentations may be mounted on Friday afternoon, February 21 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and on Saturday morning beginning at 7:00 am. The poster must be completely mounted by 10:00 am, Saturday, February 22. See the Final Program on-site for your assigned poster board number. All poster presentations must remain in place until 5:30 pm Monday, February 24. All poster presentations may be removed between 5:30 pm, February 21 and 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25. Check at the registration counters in the meeting room foyer if you have any questions or encounter any difficulties. A small supply of poster presentation supplies (limited to tacks, tape, etc.) will be available at there.

Each poster board is approximately 4' high (121 cm) and 8' wide (242 cm). The area on the poster board available to attach your poster material is the following: 44" high (110 cm) and 91" wide (229 cm). The abstract title and author(s) must be placed at the top of the board. The lettering should be at least one inch high. It is recommended that you provide and post a copy of the abstract in large type on the upper left corner of the board. If you mount your presentation, please use lightweight poster board only; heavy board in difficult to secure.

All illustrations should be made in advance. Remember that illustrations, charts, tables, lettering, and drawing must be readable from distances of three feet or more. Keep them simple and clear with heavy lines and effective use of color. Prepare and bring all illustrations and signs needed for your poster presentation to the Annual Meeting. Mount illustrations on your assigned poster board using velcro fasteners or pins.
