Purpose of the NASBS
- To promote the public welfare through the advancement of skull base surgery and related sciences.
- To disseminate information about the anatomy, physiology and clinical management of diseases involving the skull base.
- To promote education and basic and clinical research relating to diseases of the skull base.
- To promote mutual fellowship and cooperation among various scientific disciplines and organizations.
- To support, coordinate, and enhance efforts to generate scientific information useful to specialists in the care of diseases of the skull base

- The 7th Biennial World Cleft Lip and Palate Congress after the successful Congresses at Seoul (2010), Dallas (2008), East Bourne (2006), Halifax (2004), Munich (2002) and Zurich (2000) is to be held on 7-11 May 2012 at Seychelles. This is the FIRST OF ITS KIND to be held in AFRICA. The pre-conference live surgical workshop will highlight cutting edge surgeries in the management of craniofacial anomalies. World renowned surgeons will present their pioneering works in cleft care. The theme of the Congress is "Cleft Prevention in Limited Resource Setting".
